Sterling Silver Care

Sterling Silver is good quality, has a bright shine to it and will last forever if looked after properly. It's actually harder than pure silver! The 925 stamp on your jewellery shows that the Sterling Silver is genuine.

Advantages of Sterling Silver:

  • It has a beautiful colour and high shine
  • It's durable and long-lasting
  • It lasts better if you wear it
  • It's hypoallergenic
  • It's affordable & light
  • It won't turn your skin a funny colour

Caring for your Sterling Silver:

  • Your jewellery comes in a sealable bag with a little black sheet which helps to prevent tarnishing. Storing your jewellery in the airtight bag will keep it bright and shiny
  • Sterling Silver can tarnish. If your jewellery darkens, don't panic, it's normal!
  • Avoid jewellery contact with harsh chemicals, cleaning products, chlorine, perfumes, lotions etc.
  • Keep jewellery out of direct sunlight
  • To clean your jewellery, soak for a few minutes in warm water with dish soap. Clean with a soft toothbrush or cloth
  • To remove heavy tarnish (if the silver has gone really dark) soak your jewellery in white vinegar (1/2 cup) and baking soda (2tbsp) for a couple of hours. Rinse and pat dry
  • Use polish and a polishing cloth to shine after cleaning
  • Wearing your jewellery often will also prevent tarnishing
  • Remove jewellery if you’re visiting hot springs
